If you are a novice to grass cutting and garden machinery maintenance then it is important that you follow a few simple steps to avoid mechanical problems later. If you have a lawnmower, petrol grass trimmer, chainsaw, riding mower, or any other machinery which requires a 2 stroke oil mixture then follow the simple guide and watch the video.
The essentials are first to make sure you know the correct mix ratio.
Purchase a suitable measuring container and mixer.
Measure out the correct ratio of petrol to oil. Mix thoroughly
Add the oil/ petrol mixture to your machine.
Follow the guide at the bottom of the page for the correct ratio. To avoid mechanical failure or damage it is essential that you get the correct ratio. Using too much could produce oily plugs and gum it. Using too little oil could cause it to seize.
Purchase the correct fuel with the correct mixer ratio. Make sure you use whole units of petrol to avoid incorrect ratios. And leave an air gap at the top of the container.
Measure out the correct amount of petrol as above, and put the correct ratio of oil into the container according to the table. Ensure the cap is on firmly and sealed and mix thoroughly.
Add the mixture to your machine using a funnel to avoid spillage. If you have any excess petrol make sure it. I stored in a cool place.
