Hydraulic Log Splitter Size Considerations
Updated: Oct 12, 2020
There is a need for a compact hydraulic log splitter that is small in size to enable the log splitter to be quickly shipped, carried and stored when not in use. Besides, there is a need for a compact petrol log splitter able of splitting logs similar in size to these that may be split utilising much larger tractor log splitters.
The present log splitter UK device solves the preceding problems by providing a log splitter incorporating a support structure possessing a first end, a second end, and an open centre division defined there between a splitting tool slidably joined to the support construction and a drive mechanism for driving action of the splitting machine through a splitting zone. The splitting mechanism comprises an elongate beam possessing an outer facade, a first end, a second end, and an open centre part separating the first end and the second end, and a splitting wedge linked to the outer surface of the elongate beam and possessing at least one splitting surface made thereon. The elongate shaft is arranged within the open center portion of the supporter structure. The drive mechanism is placed within the open center part of the elongate beam, and is linked on a first end to the first end of the supporter structure and on a second end to the second end of the elongate shaft.
Due to the nested arrangement of the splitting device, the size of the petrol log splitter is decreased because the supporter structure does not have to be created with a longitudinal length that is adequate to account for both the longitudinal expanse of the drive mechanism and the longitudinal dimension of travel of the splitting wedge.
