Due to the nested arrangement of the splitting device, the size of the petrol log splitter is decreased because the supporter structure does not have to be created with a longitudinal length that is adequate to account for both the longitudinal expanse of the drive mechanism and the longitudinal dimension of travel of the splitting wedge.
