Rushmere Country Park, located in Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire, is operated by The Greensand Trust, a charitable organization that strives to conserve the distinctive landscape, wildlife, and history of the Greensand Ridge and its surrounding land. In addition to welcoming visitors for walks, cycle rides, horse rides, just to have a coffee with a view, or just to marvel at the wildlife, Rushmere is run on a not-for-profit basis and relies on the income it derives from visitors.
Since hundreds of acres of woodlands, heathlands, and meadows are open to the public, the land must be maintained - and that is not an easy task. Greenland Trust has purchased a Polaris Ranger electric vehicle at the end of last year to help with this. One is based at Rushmere Country Park and the other is based at Ampthill Great Park near Rushmere.

The electric off road vehicle is used to check on the parks on a daily basis as well as transporting materials to be used in the path/track repairs, and comes with a powerful electric engine, 226kg box capacity, and a 26.6cm level ground clearance. It also provides smooth and quiet operation to reduce disturbance to wildlife and visitors to the site.
