In an announcement on the 7th, Daedong (CEO Joon-Sik Kim, Yu-hyeon Won), a pioneer in future agriculture, announced the expansion of its telematics-based 'Daedong Connect' to small and medium tractors.
By the end of the year, the 'Connect' will be available for medium-sized tractors with 59 to 127 horsepower, such as the FX, RX, and HX Prime series, as well as large tractors over 120 horsepower, such as the PX1300, HX1300, and HX1400. Using the mobile app, there are five functions: Vehicle Control (home function) Vehicle Maintenance, History Safe, Area & Time SOS.
The Vehicle Monitoring (home function) allows the user to monitor the vehicle's location and overall condition. The Vehicle Maintenance app displays the consumption of 12 consumables, cooling water, and error status, which allows users to contact the customer center for assistance. Through regular maintenance, such as replacing parts, it is possible to prevent breakdowns, save time from repairs during busy seasons, maximize performance, and prolong lifespan.
Tractor history records daily work hours, travel distances, fuel consumption, and what functions are used for which types of work. This history allows users to plan ahead and work efficiently during busy seasons. By notifying owners when the tractor leaves the designated area or operates during the non-working hours set by owners, Safe Area & Time prevents theft. A SOS text message is sent to a designated emergency contact, enabling prompt rescue in case of an accident.
Daedong's official YouTube channel has more details about 'Connect'. Mobile phone users who purchased Daedong Connect this year can download the app and sign up in the Play Store (Android) or App Store (IOS). Eventually, Daedong plans to offer a 'Connect' service for mobility products such as quad bikes and small tractors and compact tractors for sale.
Further, Daedong intends to integrate the following services into its Smart Farming Platform in addition to managing agriculture machines remotely. In addition to consulting and building greenhouse and open field cultivation environments, it will offer growth recipes and weather information for every crop, remote control and operation of agricultural machinery, recommendations for and supply of agricultural machinery, and harvest and distribution at all stages of agriculture.
